Ada May Allen, 86, of Kahoka died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Clark County Care Center.

She was born the daughter of Charles Owen and Lucille (Benge) Hooper on September 1, 1936 in Wyaconda.

Ada May attended Wyaconda High School where she played tennis, basketball, shuffle board and basketball.

She married William Arthur Allen, known as Pete, and they moved to California. Ada May worked at the Kyocera factor while Pete ran a small mechanics shop. They had a son, David. Although she preferred the weather in California, she and David moved back to Wyaconda after Pete’s death. Back home, she enjoyed hunting for turquoise jewelry at yard sales. Ada May enjoyed going to Big Bri’s for a sandwich in the afternoon. She was an avid reader and would often enjoy exchanging books with Tammy Hammond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers.

She is survived by her son, David, of Wyaconda; sister, Lena Rockhold, of Memphis; several nieces and nephews, including Gregory (Carol) Rockhold and Rick (Charity) Rockhold of Memphis.
