Tommy R. Billings

{February 9, 1951 - April 21, 2016}

Tommy Ray Billings, 65, of Arbela, MO, died at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on April 21, 2016.

He was born The son of Ross and Stella Margaret (Davis) Billings on February 9, 1951 in Kirksville. He graduated from high school at Wyaconda C-1.

He married Linda Roberts in Luray on January 9, 1976. She survives.

To this union two children were born: Michael and Michele.

Tommy enjoyed breeding, raising and caring for cattle with his son Michael. He also enjoyed coon and deer hunting with his family, including guiding wildlife hunts. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was a great joy. He played softball for many years and helped coach sporting events, especially softball.

Tommy was friendly to everyone and did not know a stranger. He also enjoyed playing cards with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in law, Richard and Lois Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; his son, Michael and wife Tammy Billings of Arbela, MO; his daughter, Michele and husband Shawn Duer of Kahoka, MO; four grandchildren: Jayston Wright, Kina and Shaylee Billings, and Payson Duer; his brother, Richard and wife Beverly Billings of Gorin, MO; sisters-in-law, Diana and husband Larry Hooper, Joyce and husband Kevin Shelman, and Sharon and husband Danny Webster; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis. Burial will be in the Granger Cemetery in Granger, MO.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Gerth Funeral Chapel from 12 noon until 8 p.m. with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
