Roberta Jane Beckert, 70, of Memphis, known affectionately as Bert, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the LaBelle (MO) Manor Care Center.

Bert held many jobs including working at the factory and waitressing. Her passion was being a CNA for many years at the Scotland and Clark County Nursing Homes.

She enjoyed bowling and putting puzzles together. Bert was a huge fan of Elvis Presley.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Memphis First Christian Church, where she could be counted on to always provide a sheet cake for a funeral service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Dean, of the home; a daughter, Melissa (Adam) Frederick of Downing; stepdaughters: Deanna (Joe) Shahan of Hurdland and Debbie (Bob) Frazier of Kirksville; grandchildren: Jeremy Shahan, Chrissy Green, Karla Frazier, Kelli Parish and Jacob Frazier; sister, Ann Freeman; brother, Jack Roberts; sister-in-law, Virginia Roberts; 11 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

  4. So sorry for your loss! Birdie loved our old dog and always asked about him when we lived across the street from them. Later we found out they were putting out scraps for him!
