Larry Lane Kemmer, 84, of Wyaconda, died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City.
He was born the son of Howard Henry and Mildred Hazel (Egbert) Kemmer on April 9, 1938 in Wyaconda.
Larry graduated from the Wyaconda High School in the Class of 1956.
He entered the United States Army in January of 1961 and was stationed at Ft. Ord in California. He was honorably discharged after earning a position as a sharp shooter. He then was in the reserves until 1966.
Larry settled in Wyaconda after his discharge. He was a skilled carpenter and also drove a truck. He enjoyed visiting with friends at the Wyaconda Café and Big Bri’s. Following a move to the Schuyler County Nursing Home, he charmed the staff with his humor.
We are sad to hear of Larry’s passing but know he has found relief from pain. I enjoyed visiting with Larry at our Horn family reunions and uptown in Wyaconda.
Dad and Larry knew each other most of their lives. I’m sure they worked together on a few carpentry projects. They got together to swap stories at the restaurant in Wyaconda or just out on the sidewalk. I’m sure many problems of the world were solved in those gab sessions.
