Muriel June Harris, 93, of Osage Beach, MO, formerly of Memphis, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Lakeside Meadows Resident Facility.
She was born the daughter of Clifford and Faye (Gooden) Speer on June 2, 1922 in Scotland County, Missouri.
Muriel was married to Junior LaVerne Harris on February 25, 1942 in Memphis by the Rev. E.L. Painter. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1994.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and friends. Muriel had a talent in sewing, quilting, cooking, houseplants, gardening and playing piano. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and served the Lord faithfully. Muriel was a member of the Assembly of God and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and the Women’s Ministry Missionary Society. She served as an active member of the Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Sunshine Community Social Club.
Muriel was a loving grandmother who enjoyed her special moments with her grandchildren. She was a kind, hard-working, loving and giving person to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband; parents; brothers, Wayne Otis Speer, Victor Richard Speer at eight months old, and two brothers and two sisters who died in infancy.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Lee (Nancy) Harris of Nashville, TN and Beverly Ilene (Paul) Eichholz of Osage Beach, MO; grandchildren Brock Allan (Stacy) Harris of Moville, Iowa, Shannyn Lyn (David) Garcia and Kelsey Lee (Darrell) Walny, all of Nashville, TN, and Alicia Dawn Edwards of Edina; great grandchildren, Jason Thomas Edwards, Alexa Elizabeth Harris and Jacob Allan Harris; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Gerth Funeral Chapel with the Leon Buford, pastor of the Pentecostal Church in Memphis officiating. Visitation is prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Memphis Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideons, American Heart Association or the family.

Mrs. Harris was a lovely and gentle lady, greatly loved by all who knew who her. She will be missed.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Sister Harris. She was faithful in her work for the Lord and was a blessing to us when we were her Pastors our prayers are with you all. She will be greatly missed.
