Irvin Z. Garman, 76, of Milton, IA, died August 4, 2015, at his home.
He was born December 9, 1938 in Lancaster Co, PA, the son of Henry S. and Susie Mae (Zimmerman) Garman.
Irvin married the former Laura S. Zimmerman on December 16, 1961. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Raymond and Glenn Garman; two brothers, Levi and Ivan Garman; a brother-in-law, John Reiff; a sister-in-law, Ida Garman; and great grandson, Justice Hoover.
He is survived by his wife; six sons: Marlin Garman and wife Barbara of Myerstown, PA, Alvin Garman and wife Rosanna of Memphis, MO, Mervin Garman and wife Lois of Mt. Sterling, IA, Eugene Garman and wife Melisa of Mt. Sterling, IA, Vernon Garman and wife Glenda of Kirksville, MO, and Eldon Garman and wife Mary Kay of Mt. Sterling, IA; four daughters, Rosetta and husband Paul Zimmerman of Memphis, MO, Joanna and husband Clair Zimmerman of Tipton, MO, Susan Garman of Mt. Sterling, IA, and Irene and husband Curvin Horning of Rutledge, MO; four brothers, John Garman of Ephrata, PA, Henry Garman and wife Erma of New Holland, PA, Aaron Garman and wife Ella of Penn Yan, NY, and Clarence Garman and wife Alta of Narvon, PA; seven sisters, Mary and husband David Nolt of Martinsburg, PA, Laura and husband Mervin Martin of Roaring Spring, PA, Susan Reiff of Fortuna, MO, Anna and husband Carl Martin of Goshen, IN, Eva and husband Phares Martin of Leola, PA, Ruth and husband Elmer Oberholtzer of New Enterprise, PA, and Alta and husband Menno Zimmerman of Orchard, IA; two sisters-in-law, Martha and husband Irvin Bartsch of Lebanon, PA, and Charmaine Garman of Ephrata, PA; 56 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 8:15 a.m. at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, MO and at 9 a.m. at the Northview Mennonite Church north of Memphis, MO. Officiants will be Abner Oberholtzer, Charles Zimmerman, Carl Hoover, and Nelson Martin.
Coffin bearers will be Dean Garman, Jeffrey Garman, Richard Zimmerman, Javan Zimmerman, Daniel Garman and Rodney Garman. Burial will be in the Northview Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center.
