Florence G. Martin, 77, entered into rest on April 7, 2013 at her home in Memphis, MO.
She was born the daughter of Warren S. and Mary (Godshall) Hackman in Montgomery County, PA, on June 23, 1935. She was a mother figure to her siblings when their mother passed away, when Florence was 15.
She married Titus R. Martin on November 10, 1956. He survives.
Titus and Florence shared life’s joys and sorrows for 56 years. Florence was a member of the Indian Creek Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). Her husband was ordained minister in 1966 and she was a strong support to him. The Martins lived at the home of Earl Martin for the past ten months.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Delbert Wayne Martin.
She is survived by her husband, Titus, of the home; children Leonard and Rebecca (Martin) Martin of Memphis, Marlin and Martha (Brubaker) Martin of Loyal, WI, Thelma and Earl Martin of Memphis, David and Janice (Weiler) Martin of Memphis, Dorothy and Irvin Martin of Rutledge and Phillip and Margaret Martin of Loyal; three brothers, John and Ellen Hackman of Woodstock, IL, Willard and Nora Hackman of Wellsboro, PA, and Warren Hackman, Jr. of Newmanstown, PA; sisters, Kathryn and Clarence Martin of Akron, PA, and Mary Ann and Lloyd Martin of Theresa, NY; 42 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at the Hillcrest Mennonite Center in Scotland County and at 9:30 a.m. at the Indian Creek Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery. Bishop Luke Fox, Preacher Merle Oberholtzer, Preacher Edwin Horst, and Preacher Talmon Martin will officiate the service.
Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, at Hillcrest.
