At a Later Date

{Jan. 19, 1956 - Feb. 6, 2026}

Vicki Lynn (Sublett) Shalley, 70, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by those that loved her.

She was Born on January 19, 1956, in Avon, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Phyllis Sublett.

Vicki was the beloved wife of Doug Shalley of Memphis, Missouri, and a loving mother to her three children: Anthony (Clay) Nelson of New Orleans, Louisiana; Angela (Tim) Gunther of Abingdon, Illinois; and Catherine (Houston) Shalley of Memphis, Missouri. She cherished every moment spent with them.

She found tremendous joy in her role as grandmother to Payton, Hayden, and Emma, and her grandpup Pip, who were a constant source of pride and happiness. She treasured being their grandmother and took great pride in everything they continue to accomplish..

Vicki is survived by her husband, her children and grandchildren, her sister, Jacki (Rick) Thomas of Abingdon, Illinois, her brother-in-law, Dave (Stephanie) Shalley of Memphis, Missouri and sister-in-law, Pam Shalley also of Memphis; as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and her beloved cats; Alice and Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Phyllis Sublett.

Those who knew Vicki will remember her as kind-hearted, loving, and full of humor. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and at ease. Her presence brightened every room she entered, and her laughter—warm and unmistakable—left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. She will be remembered for her warmth, her compassion, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held at 100 S. Main St in Abingdon, Illinois, on February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. We will also be honoring her memory during Mardi Gras at 1022 Saint Peter St, New Orleans, Louisiana on February 17, 2026 at 11:00 am.

Additional services will be held in Memphis, Missouri, at a later date.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
