Dollie Katherine Thompson, 91, of Memphis, died July 19, 2025 at the Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL.
She was born the daughter of Joe Edgar and Maggie Pearl (Andrews) Sanders on June 28, 1934, in Macon County, Tennessee.
Katherine lived most of her life in Tennessee before marrying Artis “Boots” Thompson and moving to Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1985.
She enjoyed doing her word puzzles and reading. Katherine was devoted to her family.
Katherine was a gift in everyone’s lives. She would start her day with a hot cup of coffee and a game of solitaire. She loved finding a shady spot on a nice day to read her books and would spend a couple of hours each day tending her flowers. Her favorites were sunflowers.
She used to collect windchimes and hang them inside because they were pretty. Katherine enjoyed old westerns and her favorite book was Little House on the Prairie.
Katherine was the best person to talk to because she listened and cared. She had the biggest heart and she fully loved the people in her life.
She will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Travis, and his wife, Linda Mosley; a grandson, Dennis Mosley; and a great grandson.
