Vivian Lucille Hartley, 80, of Memphis, formerly of Lomax, IL, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

She was born the daughter of Floyd Everett and Helen Lucille (Bowlyou) Spiker on May 21, 1936 in Burlington, Iowa.

Vivian married Harry Hartley on January 15, 1953.   He preceded her in death on July 13, 2003.

Vivian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She liked working on puzzle books, being in her garden and tending her flowers, embroidery, and dancing – which was her passion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son-in-law, two brothers and a great-grandson in infancy.

She is survived by her daughters: Audrey Spray of Bible Grove, Theresa (Dave) Fleming of Tuscumbia, MO and Terri Hamlin of Memphis; a son, Floyd (Jeanne) Hartley of Downing; sister, Sandra (Jim) Dumse of Danville, IA; brother, Larry Spiker of Lomax, IL; special friend, Lester McElroy of Downing; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 15, at the Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church, officiating.   Burial will follow the service.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
