George N. Zimmerman, 80, of Memphis, died October 19, 2017 at his home.

He was born the son of Abraham B. and Ada M. Zimmerman on November 1, 1936 in Lancaster, PA.   He married the former Julia Ann Stauffer on May 7, 1959.

George was a member of the Indian Creek Mennonite Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jonas, Noah, Abram and Ivan Zimmerman; sister, Frances Zimmerman; two sisters in infancy; a brother-in-law Amos H. Zimmerman; sisters-in-law: Joanna, Edna, Louella and Marion Zimmerman; a grandson and four great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of the home; sons: Paul S. Zimmerman and wife Rosetta of Memphis, Charles Zimmerman and wife Marilyn of Arbela, Edward Zimmerman and wife Janice of Fortuna, MO, and George Zimmerman Jr. and wife Faith of Greentop; daughters, Susan and husband Edward Burkholder of Ashland, OH, Virginia and husband Clair Zimmerman of Cantril, Rosanna and husband Alvin Garman of Memphis, Rosene and husband Paul Jr. Shirk of Goshen, IN, and Emma Mae Zimmerman of Memphis; brothers: Paul Zimmerman and wife Lydia of Rutledge, Harvey Zimmerman resides with family in Pennsylvania, Levi Zimmerman and wife Leah of Rutledge, Enos Zimmerman and wife Irma of Orrstown, PA, David Zimmerman and wife Alta of Fairmont Home, PA, Titus Zimmerman and wife Geraldine of Oklahoma; sisters; Ada and husband Lloyd Sensenig of Annville, PA, and Anna and husband Marvin Reiff of Lebanon, PA; a foster sister, Carmen Forney of Annville, PA; sister-in-law, Edith Zimmerman of Lebanon, PA; 58 grandchildren and 78 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 9 a.m. at Hillcrest Community Center and 9:30 a.m. at Indian Creek Mennonite Church.     Officiating the service will be Luke Fox, Daniel Stauffer, Talman Martin and Neil Burkholder.

Visitation is Monday, October 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Hillcrest Community Center.
