Alberta Anne Richardson, known as “Birdie”, 57, of Memphis died May 30, 2021 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

She was born the daughter of Richard and Phoebe (Blackmer) Spencer on November 14, 1963 in Cass City, MI.

Birdie attended schools in Caro, MI, where she graduated from Caro High School. After graduation, Birdie moved around a lot. She lived in Hawaii, Minnesota and North Dakota before settling in Missouri.

Birdie was a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) and worked remotely as a medical coder for Trinity Health out of Minot, ND. She loved her job and did it for almost 10 years. Birdie also received optical training.

When she was younger, she worked at Howard’s Beauty Academy as a stylist and later as a teacher. Birdie ran cross country when she was in high school.

Birdie loved to travel. She took every chance she got to travel, it was her passion.

There weren’t many things she could not do. Birdie was the strongest, kindest and most loving person to everyone she met.

She is survived by her parents; children: Marty Sorensen, Holly Brandstetter, Elijah Richardson and Hannah Small; siblings: Laura Ewald, Rose Martin and Richard Spencer; nine grandchildren; many adopted grandchildren and family. She loved them all like they were her own.

  1. My heart goes out to her family.

Birdie will be greatly missed. She was a fun loving, person who loved God, her county, and most of all family. She had a personality that would brighten the room. She took in many people and treated us and them like family. I will forever be lost without her.

  5. She is definitely going to be missed. Even though we didn’t do much visiting when we got older we sure did when we was younger. I have lots of memories to hold of the family.
